Baking along with the Great British Bake Off: Week Four – DAIRY

Hey Cake Chums!

It’s week four of The Great British Bake Off and, this week, it was the first EVER Dairy Week!

Every week, during series 10 of GBBO, I am attempting each episode’s technical challenge – following the same rules, timings and recipe as the bakers in the tent – filming the entire experience and sharing it over on my YouTube channel.

In dairy week, that meant I was tackling Prue Leith’s take on a 600-year-old classic: Maids of Honour – reported to be Henry VIII’s favourite dessert – with one very unusual ingredient.

Check it out in the video below…

Or click here to watch it over on YouTube.

Have you watched this week’s episode yet? Did the right person go home? Will you be attempting any of this week’s bakes? Let me know in the comments…

If you want to follow along with my #bakealongwithGBBO adventures, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and, if you would like to receive a notification every time I upload a new video, you can also hit the bell icon.

Thanks so much for watching guys and I’ll see you on Sunday for another issue of Something Sweet magazine!

If you fancy having a go at Prue’s Maids of Honour, you can find the recipe here.

  1. Getting ready to make these. Yours look delicious & I can’t wait to try them.
Can you tell me what Malt Extract tastes like? I got it then opened it & the smell is nothing like I’ve ever had that was malt! Thanks
