It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for some brand new, original content from Mr Baker’s Cakes: The Blog!
This week, it’s another delicious recipe and I’ve been playing with some of the gorgeous flavoured icing sugars from Sugar and Crumbs.
I love pairing the flavours of lemons and blueberries, but with lemon having such a strong flavour profile, it can be tricky to get the balance just right. So when I saw that Sugar and Crumbs had done the hard work for us with their Blueberry and Lemon Icing Sugar, I had to order some and have a play!
I used the flavoured icing sugar in both the sponge (yes, you can do that too!) and in the buttercream, before filling my cupcakes with wild blueberry conserve and topping them with crumbled French Meringue.
