A Weekly Slice of Something Sweet, All Content, Blog

Happy Six Month Anniversary to Something Sweet!

Do you know, this week marks six months of Something Sweet? I can hardly believe it – it seems like only yesterday that I was putting together the first issue.

I had debated doing a bit of a celebratory special, but then someone (the other half) suggested that I should save the fanfares until we hit the one-year mark (people are always trying to ruin my fun), so I’m afraid the parade is cancelled for now…

However, we do still have lots of fabulous stuff, including an update on my highly secretive collaboration, The Greatest Showpiece and I’ve been playing with the new Sugar Clay by Sugar Street Studios.

I‘m excited to announce the general release of a new product that many of us have been looking forward to quite some time now and I profile an exciting opportunity to attend an event and learn from a multitude of incredible cakey talents.

There are lots of other amazing learning opportunities too actually, with some fabulous new classes from Immaculate Confections and not one, but two super smart tutorials that will help you take your wedding cakes to a whole new level of awesomeness.

I also introduce you to one of my favourite cake groups, I show you who immortalised me in gif form this week, we jet off to Spain briefly to check in with Cakeflix’s Paul and David and find out which member of cake royalty came visiting this week before catching up with the crew behind Peach Life, a wonderful display that is being created for this year’s Cake International show – be sure to check out which one of their incredible collaborators will be ensuring that the display is truly… animated.

Oh and of course, amongst all this we also have lots of fabulous cakes to see and admire and I choose our all-important Cake (or should I say Cakes) of the Week! Who will it be, I wonder?!

Also featuring: Cake Dutchess, Day of Dems, Hansel & Gretel de Maria M Gonzalez, Rosehip Bakery, Suzanne Esper Cakes, Fabricake Sugarcraft Ltd, Cakes of Good Taste, Truly Scrumptious Cakes by Design, Little Cherry Cake Co, Motion Mapping, The BakeKing, The Great British Bake Off, Sensational Cakes and More, Kate Barmby, Cupcakes & Dreams and Sideserf Cake Studio.

Find all this and more right here in Issue 26 of Something Sweet!
