Hey cake chums!

Welcome back to another issue of Something Sweet – your weekly slice of all the latest news from the world of cake!

It has been a busy week here at Mr Baker’s Cakes – I’m still recovering from my first #bakealongwithGBBO experience – and so is my cake room! Luckily, it didn’t manage to stop me scouring the web to bring you the latest cakey happenings though.

We have some rather exciting news from those lovely bods over at The Cake Professionals HQ – AKA the lovely Christine and Phil Jensen of Peboryon (stars of Extreme Cake Makers) – as they launch the brand new cake business awards TODAY!

And just when you thought it was safe to go back in the kitchen, a certain ‘Purple Cabbage’ Cake is back and this time we’re finding out how to make it (I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist – I’m a sucker for a bit of romance).

I’m shining my spotlight on not one, but two artists this week who both wowed hundreds of thousands of Boltonians with their rather enormous creations (although my knee didn’t fall victim to one of them this year thankfully); we are meeting another awesome maker in this week’s Meet the Maker feature AND we’re crossing the Channel over to France to find out which Instagram profiles never fail to keep Sébastien Haramendy of Un Cupcake, l’Addition inspired week after week.

And if all that wasn’t enough, we even have a rather breath-taking Cake of the Week this week too.
