Time for a little Something Sweet…

Hey cake chums!

Welcome back to another issue of Something Sweet – your weekly slice of all the latest news from the world of cake!

I must begin with a massive thank you to everyone who read, commented on, shared and generally supported last week’s relaunch issue! It reached a huge amount of people, which is a fantastic result after such a long hiatus, but I’m hoping that this week’s issue can do even better!

This week, we have a whole host of gorgeous features, including the chance to get involved in a fun CakeFlix collaboration and raise oodles of cash for Children in Need in the process, a bit of a preview of one of the UK’s most popular food festivals and, of course, we check out another amazing cake class.

We’re also having a look at an awesome tutorial from the super talented Tracey Rothwell of Little Cherry Cake Company, meeting another awesome maker in this week’s Meet the Maker and Vicky Teather of the Yellow Bee Cake Company tells us which Instagram profiles never fail to keep her inspired week after week.

As you may have gathered from this week’s cover star, this week’s Collaboration Station is sharing the fabulous Lord of the Cakes collab and I also checked in with Nina Evans Williams to find out all about how she created her dream cake space by building a custom cake cabin on the grounds of her home.

But enough from me for now…

Enjoy the issue – find it here!

The day has finally come: SOMETHING SWEET IS BACK!

Heeeeeeeeey cake chums!

It has been a long time coming, but I am super thrilled to finally be able to welcome you back to the new-and-improved Something Sweet from Mr Baker’s Cakes: The Blog – your weekly slice of all latest news from the world of cake.

The cover of the relaunch issue

If you follow my socials, you may well have seen me ask a while ago whether people would like Something Sweet to remain in its previous form as a mammoth-long blog post or whether we should switch to a more realistic magazine-like incarnation. Well, the people replied in their masses and the response was almost entirely unanimous – realistic magazine it is. As the popular quote attests, you have to give the people what they want after all.

I do hope that you enjoy the new format, but as with all new things, I can’t promise that there won’t be any teething issues. If you do come across any bugs or glitches as you are reading this week’s issue, then please let me know.

Lots of your favourite features from the original iteration are back, but they may have been joined by one or two new ones too. As before, the magazine will continue to develop and evolve over time and – just like before – I will also be relying on all of you to ensure that we have weekly content to keep the magazine interesting, relevant and topical, so if you would like to get involved in next week’s issue – or a future issue – then head to the back page to find out more.

But enough from me for now…

Enjoy the issue!
