A Little Help With Your Christmas Shopping…

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet?

If, like me, you’ve barely even started (gulp), I thought I would give you a little help to track down those last minute cake decorating gift ideas…

First things first, definitely check out my brand new Amazon store to find a round up of some of my top cake-themed gift suggestions (linked to my recent YouTube video).

I have also put together a list of some of my absolute favourite baking and cake decorating books over there too, so it’s definitely worth a look!

And don’t forget, you can also visit the Mr Baker’s Cakes apparel store to pick up all of your essential #cakechums merch – including (after a lot of requests) some BRAND NEW HOODIES! I’ve gone for just a standard, ‘men’s’, non-tailored fit at the moment as that is what people had been asking for, but rest assured, we will DEFINITELY be adding some more new products to the line in 2020!

But – and this is super important – today is your last day for ordering if you want to be able to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas, so get to it!

Between those two links, you should definitely be able to find all of the last minute cake decorating gift ideas you could possibly need! And while you’re there, maybe even treat yourself to a shiny trinket or two as well…! 😉

I hope they helped, but be sure to let me know in the comments if you have found any other amazing bargains or ideas that you think people would want to hear about!

PS. Oh, actually… while you’re here, have you seen the latest posts over on my social media channels?

I think we all have that one special Cake Chum in our life who is always there to keep us going when times are getting a little bit rough and, at this time of year, it’s always nice to be able to show them a bit of love and appreciation. To say a special thank you for all of their support over the last year…

I don’t know about you, but I think my Cake Chum deserves a truly special gift this Christmas – I only wish I could afford it! Luckily, the lovely Christmas elves at Bake Diary are here to help!

All through December, they have been running a very special giveaway to help us show our love and appreciation to our favourite Cake Chums!

To get involved, you simply need to head to their Facebook page, find the giveaway post (click this link to head straight there) and add a comment, telling them what you would buy for the special cake chum in your life and why. Whether it’s a sheeter, a new stand mixer or something else entirely, just let them know and they will pick one lucky person to receive the gift of their dreams! Amazing, right? The winner will be chosen on Christmas Eve, so there isn’t any time to lose! Good luck!

Back to normal… -ish

It’s nearly all back to normal here at Mr Baker’s Cakes HQ. The Magical Dragon Machine has been packed away and Paddington is safely ensconced in his display spot in my cake room (which still needs a jolly good sort out, if I’m honest). Gearing up for Cake International, my head, diary and emails had been entirely full of dragons, bears and crammed-in tutorials and I barely managed to think about life beyond the shows. It’s both a blessing and a curse that it’s all done and dusted for the year – I’m happy that there is now the chance to stop and breathe, but I’m also sad that it’s all over. Naturally, plans are already afoot for next year’s collaborations and exhibits though, so there isn’t THAT much breathing space!

Next on the agenda though is a charity fundraiser (I try to do at least two a year) and the baking possibilities offered by festive season. I love Christmas baking and am so excited to get my teeth into some festive tutorials for my friends over at Fabricake and of course, share some of my favourite recipes with you guys too! Fabricake have thrown me a real curveball for this month’s project though and I can’t wait to show it to you – if I can pull it off!

My charity fundraiser went live earlier today over on Facebook and it is supporting local radio station, Wave 105’s Cash for Kids appeal. After a quick poll to find out what people would want to win, the people spoke and, with a resounding 69% of the vote, the people wanted chocolate!

Chocolate Cake
Made for a recent charity event, the prize will be along these lines…

As a result, up for grabs is a devilishly decadent loaded chocolate extravaganza: my gorgeous (if I do say so myself) original recipe mud cake, filled with luxurious milk chocolate ganache and topped with a ridiculous amount of tasty chocolatey sweets and treats! If you want to get in on the action, head over to my fundraising page and donate just £2. Yup, that’s it! Want a better chance of winning? Donate more! For every £2 you donate, you’ll get another name in the hat. More information can be found on my fundraising page. I love how baking and cake decorating has given me a platform to do some real good in my local area and I can’t wait to see how much we will be able to raise together.

Right, I suppose I ought to start thinking about that cake room sort out – but maybe a nap first… 😉
