Grab your morning cuppa, it’s time for #SS22!

Welcome to issue 22 of Something Sweet, my online weekly magazine with all the latest news from the world of cake.

This week, #SS22 is positively bursting at the seams with a colossal amount of news, including some exciting announcements from the team behind NISE – the UK’s newest cake show, a fantastic opportunity for cakers looking for a bit of television exposure from Raise the Roof Productions and a super fun Wimbledon themed recipe from Renshaw Baking.

There are two beautiful collaborations to check out, I shine my spotlight on everyone’s favourite GBBO ‘illusion cake’ maker, Steven Carter-Bailey and I take you behind the scenes of the super-talented Tina Scott Parashar’s Cake Design’s recent visit to the UK.

Following some conflicting information from Rolkem HQ after this week’s Food Alert for Action from the Food Standard Agency (FSA), I’ve also spent some time laying bare exactly where we all stand with the latest developments in the #RolkemSaga.

Welcome to SS21…

Happy Sunday to you all!

Introducing SS20 – your weekly slice of #SomethingSweet…

Every single summer, without fail, this meme appears.

And every single summer, it remains as true as ever.

But do you know what? If you are reading this, then it means that you have faced one of the trickiest issues a caker can deal with and you have survived. I want you to just take a minute and feel proud. I bet there were times this week when it seemed impossible to get your cakes finished, but you did it! Go you!
